This Berry Gecko (or Berry-cko for short) was an illustration for the Character Design Challenge in November 2021. The Prompt of the month was “Veggie Animals”, and one of the first designs that came to mind was a strawberry gecko. So I started sketching several ideas and thinking about the composition of the full image. I also decided to add a cute witchy hat to the Gecko, and some flasks attached to his belt since I thought that just painting the Gecko without props felt like something was missing.

Berry-cko was selected as a Special Mention for that month’s challenge.
